A BMW 3 Series GT looks set to be launched with the next generation 3 Series
It’s not going to be too hard to imagine how the 3 Series GT will look – think 5 Series GT on a boil wash. But BMW think there is money to be made with the GT concept, and are looking to take on the likes of the Audi A4 Avant and the Audi Q3. VW Polo R WRC (2011): Volkswagen enter the WRC
High-level sources in an existing World Rally Championship team have told CAR that Volkswagen will formally announce its decision to enter the WRC at Rally Sardinia, which starts on 5 May 2011, somewhat stealing the thunder of Mini’s WRC debut. It’s believed that sister firm Skoda’s Fabia Intercontinental Rally Challenge car will be used as the first step in development. This car currently runs to the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated S2000 rules, so one of the first steps will be to switch to a 1.6-litre turbo.
Dwayne Peace, his family and his 1955 Ford Thunderbird took hot-rodding's top prize at the Detroit Autorama on Sunday: the 49th Don Ridler Memorial Award. Peace, accompanied by his two sons who helped build the car, received the trophy and a check for $10,000. The Ridler Award is named for Don Ridler, an athlete and Autorama event promoter from 1957 to 1961.
